I won two lipsticks last week!

I won a lipstick from 17 Cosmetics on Facebook last week, and another one from R8 Beauty.

Magic Lips in 'Jet' and 17 Cosmetics in 'Showbiz'.

The deal with the Magic Lips lipstick (L) by Ultraglow is that it goes on black (in this case, there are several shades available) and depending on the ph of your skin it goes a different colour. On me it went a rich wine colour after a short period of development. It's a lip stain so you can expect a long lasting colour.

The Magic Lips goes on slightly black at first but quickly starts changing

The application of the Magic Lips was a bit hit and miss on me. I thought it was just my knackered winter lips, until I came to use the 17 lipstick which went on fine. Having said that, I'm not going to give up just yet, I'll try again after giving my lips a good scrub, buff and moisturise, as I'm sure it'll aid an even application.

How miserable do I look here?!
It's a bit 'bitty'

You'll have to excuse the sloppy application, I wanted to get it on fast so I could take pics.
It seems to be pinker on the softer inner parts of my lips
This is it totally removed. As you can see it's left a good stain
This is the colour Jet finished up on me
You can get Magic Lips by Ultraglow here for £5.49

The lipstick I won from 17 is a-maaaazing. I've finally found the perfect pink-toned red for me! It makes my teeth look whiter, complements my skin tone, is super moisturising and lasts ages. No, they're not paying me, honest!

Anyway, here are the pics so you can make your own minds up:

Showbiz is available to buy from Boots stores and and costs £4.29.

Do you like my new glasses? I'm so pleased with them.

Pink Big - Soap and Glory!

Hello all.

I have probably been a little subdued in my protestations of my love for Soap and Glory, but no more!

I am a complete S&G ho-bag. There is entirely too much pink in my bathroom, but I can always shove some non-pink toiletries off the shelf and make room for some more Soap and Glory. Always.

When I got the e-mail through from S&G Towers letting me know Pink Big (rrp £60) would be £25 for a week in Boots, I was in like stink. I had it in my little paws less than 12 hours later. Enough waffle, tharrrrrr she blows!

For your £25 you get a huge tote bag, a collapsible laundry type box, and the following goodies:

  • Clean On Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel (500ml)
  • The Righteous Butter Body Butter (300ml)
  • Flake Away Body Scrub (300ml)
  • Girligo Scented Body Moisturising Mist (100ml)
  • Glad Hair Day Ultra-Shine Super-Shampoo (250ml)
  • The Breakfast Scrub Body Smoother (300ml)
  • Hand Food Hydrating Hand Cream (125ml)
  • Scrub Your Nose In It Face Scrub And Mask (125ml)
  • Super Colour Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss in ‘Pink Apricot,’ (7ml)
  • Off Your Face Cleansing Wipes (25 wipes)
  • Giant Super Sudsy Shower Puff

What a steal!

Have you got yours yet?!

More e.l.f. goodies

Hiya all :)

e.l.f. have been tempting me tooo much recently. So many freebies!

First they tempted me with the free 32 eye shadow palette. This order they snagged me with the free 6 shadow set.

I didn't take any photos of the eye shadows as I'm gifting them.....I'm terrible, aren't I? I also fluffed it and bought 2 of the same shade of lip plumper, so I'll gift one of those too.

I tried it today and it didn't appear to be very plumping, but it had that tingling sensation I love (which is SO well done in Soap and Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker lip plumper - my go-to lip plumper - available from Boots) and the colour is subtle, so I can't say fairer than that for £1.50.

I also got the Mineral Booster powder finisher, in shimmer (small) which was £3.50.
It's hard to describe what it does. I used it for the first time today. I think I saw someone else refer to it as a 'soft focus' finish and I'd agree with that. This is what they say on the e.l.f website about it: 'Achieve the ultimate, translucent "photo finishing touch" to your makeup, our Mineral Booster melts into your skin, infusing it with key vitamins A, B and E to promote healthier skin that’s noticeably silkier and smoother. Completely sheer and ideal for all skin tones, Mineral Booster gently absorbs oil and minimizes the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and pores for a beautiful even finish.'

I also got 3 nail polishes (£1.50 each).

L-R Glitter Glam, Red Velvet and Chocolate
Coming soon, I was sucked in by a 100 eyshadow palette when I spent £18 on an order. HOW do they manage to have everything so cheap and do these great offers too?!

My first Gok Wan underwear purchase

Hands up if you love Gok Wan?

Me too! I've long admired the cheeky wee scamp and I've been wanting to buy something from his underwear range at Simply Be for the last couple of years. SB had a sale recently so I bought the Slicker Knicker at half price.

As soon as I opened the bag I was very impressed with the packaging.

This picture SHOULD be horizontal but it's gone doolally

Lovely lining

Blurry, sorry.

All in all it's a helluva knicker. Boned at the front, ruched at the back, and they look so good and feel lovely on, so comfortable.

All I need to do now is wait for another sale to see if I can get them in another colour :)

Thanks for being here.

Problem skin? Me too! Help is at hand.

Like many people, I have problem skin, and mine is even worse in winter.

This is what I look like without makeup.

I've been a freckle puss (as my mum calls me) my whole life. In the summer there's hardly any part of my face not smothered in freckles.

I've also had milia for almost all of my life. Sometimes called milk spots, they come about when keratin - the building blocks of hair and skin - regenerate too quickly. You can read more about milia here. I used to have much more of a problem with milia than I do now. I use two Soap And Glory scrubs, Scrub Your Nose In It and The Greatest Scrub Of All, and now I probably have a quarter of the milia I used to have before.

I developed broken veins around my nose when I was about 21. I had a very nasty accident and turned to booze to ease the pain. It's a long story but in a nutshell the NHS totally failed me. I was in agony every day for about 18 months and booze helped me through. When I started to develop the 'gin blossoms' I finally knocked it on the head.

Because I have an autoimmune disease (of as-yet unknown origin) I get a horrible facial rash across my cheeks. Today - when I took the photo above - it wasn't too bad. It's often raised up, red hot (very painful!) and leaks a clear liquid. When it's really bad, I need to ice my face.

So with all these problems I really need some help to camouflage!

But help is at hand!
My help is Lily Lilo's Blush Away which is £7 for 4g. A little goes a long way.

I love Lily Lolo mineral products. Their eye shadows retail at £5 each and foundations at £12 which is VERY reasonable and everything is such good quality! As well as the Blush Away I have a couple of eyeshadows and a blusher by LL and will be looking to expand my collection soon.

I look ghostly, but you can see almost all redness is neutralised.

Ruby & Millie kabuki brush which is VERY lossy so far

Then I applied some mineral foundation from e.l.f.

e.l.f.'s basic range retails at about £1.50, and of all the items I've bought (and there are many - I can't resist a bargain) there was only one thing I didn't like (which was a liquid eyeliner as it has a crap applicator). They also have the Mineral and Studio ranges with prices at about £3.50, which is still an absolute steal.

Next up I added a bit of Body Shop brow powder (as my brows are half grown back) and Sally Hansen cream blush (a steal from Poundland!)

A swipe of Elf Gotta Glow blusher (which is actually more like a golden highlighter) all over my cheeks, forehead and chin, and tone correcting concealer around my nose

I'm starting to look a bit less like a ghost now.

My hair isn't ginger, honest! I love coppery red hair on other people, it just doesn't suit me. It was glowing like this because it was just before sunset and the light was very warm.

Next I add a sweep of Sleek Makeup's Dip It liquid eyeliner (which is the best liquid eyeliner I've used so far - not that I'm a massive authority, this is only the 4th one I've ever tried. It's so easy to apply and SO black), a coat of Max Factor Masterpiece mascara and a smidge of Urban Decay's eyeliner in shade Zero.

 And ta-da!

A slick of Barbara Daly lipgloss (from Xmas last year) and I'm done.

I'm also showing off my newly henna'd hair.

Thanks for looking!

We are pretty much snowed in, have virtually no food so what to do? Hmmm.....let's take some silly photos.
All clickable for larger images.

It's building up on the windows outside

I think the tree is going to collapse under the weight of that lot!

I have to be careful when I open the window to take pics that the snow doesn't cave in!
Snow stuck on the main entrance

You could barely tell there are steps underneath!
I put the Christmas tree up tonight and have taken some funky shots whilst waving the camera about.

And an ever-so-slightly blurry tree shot

Have you been had a lot of snow?
What have you been doing to pass the time?
