Perfume faves - distant past, recent past and now

Hi lovely ones,

I thought I'd do a post about perfume, even though it's a terrible personal thing. I'm really nosey and love finding out what other people are wearing.

My favourite perfume when I was a teenager was Poison, by Dior.

Top notes: Coriander, pimento, plum, anise, mace, rosewood, carnation
Heart notes: Rose, tuberose, ylang-ylang, carnation, cinnamon, jasmine, lily of the valley
Base notes: Cedarwood, vetiver, sandalwood, musk, heliotrope, vanilla, opoponax.

Back in medieval times (!) when I was growing up, it seemed to be the fashion to drown ourselves in perfume. I used to reek of this stuff. I probably wore enough to stun a moose. I still have a bottle, as someone bought me some by accident a couple of years ago. It's far too heady for me to wear often.

What does it smell like in one word? FLOOZY!

-------

My recent favourite perfume was Hypnotic Poison by Dior. As soon as I smelled this, it screamed 'me' and I wore it pretty much exclusively for over 10 years.

Top notes of bitter almond, caraway and jasmine
Heart notes of moss, sandalwood and oakmoss
Base notes vanilla, musk and cedar

I don't have a bottle of this currently but I still absolutely adore it and want to get another bottle at some point in the future.

What does it smell like in one word? SEDUCTIVE.

-------

My current favourite scent is Smile by Stacey Solomon. I don't normally go in for celebrity perfumes at all, but when I saw this scent reviewed here I really liked the sound of it. Vetiver (sometimes vetyver or vetivert) is my favourite scent ingredient so I knew I'd like it.

Heart notes Vanilla Orchid, Rose, Jasmine, Plum
Top notes Mandarin, Black Pepper, Lemon
Base notes Sandalwood, Cedar, Vetivert, Patchouli, Amber, Musks

I picked it up with my Christmas money (without smelling it!) in Savers for £14.99. It's a huge 100ml bottle and even using it almost every single day I've still got 2/3 of a bottle left. It's spicy, warm, sexy... I love it.

What does it smell like in one word? MY SCENT!

What's your favourite perfume? I'd love to know.

I don't wear perfume for men, I wear it for me. I love to smell good.

P.S. I need to do some research about cruelty free perfume. Christian Dior say they don't test products on animals, but they doesn't mean they don't test their ingredients on animals, or possibly pay someone else to test for them. I have no idea who makes Smile, and I don't have the box any more, but I will keep trying to find out. If anyone knows lots about cruelty free perfume, please let me know.

Thanks for reading!
