Laying on the floor staring at the sky

Well, it's 13 days to the wedding (12 days by the time you're reading this) and I still haven't had my wedding dress, which is obviously a MAJOR cause for concern. There are numerous other things going on including a serious health concern which has had me in tears for much of today and some other things I can't yet share, but all told I'm overwhelmed to such an extent Beachy Head seems like a good proposition. If there comes a point that I can be less mysterious about things, I'll share. Just put it this way, laying on the floor crying my eyes out to Celine Dion songs seems about all I can cope with right now (and I don't have any Celine Dion, so I'm humming the theme from Titanic over and over like the mad woman I am).

I hope life fares better for you all.

Glossybox have taken over Carmine

....and I'm pissed off about it.

Going on the reviews I've seen, Carmine has blown Glossybox out of the water every month. I guess I'll wait and see what my first Glossybox (in April) will be like.

Sorry, I stuttered.

Go to and put GLOSSYWELCOME1 in as it says and you get free P&P worth £2.95, so April's box costs just a tenner.

If you're new to Glossybox and the idea of subscription boxes, go here for the heads up.

If you're lazy, basically the skinny is you get 5-6 items from skincare to make up to nail polish, some full size and some testers a month and a nice sturdy box you can keep. It usually works out that you get way more than a tenner's worth of stuff each month.

I'll see if the first box is any good and then see what's what with the subscription.

At least the Glossybox boxes are nicer than the Carmine ones. Carmine ones are black and hard to open and Glossybox boxes are pink! Yay!

Hope you're all well?

My last 366 post is coming up later.

10 things meme

I saw this on Natalie's blog and thought I would do it, since I'm avoiding doing work :)

Basically you write 11 things about yourself and then answer the 11 questions set to you by the person who tagged you (or whose post you saw it on). Then you set a new set of 11 questions at the end for the people you're tagging (or anyone who reads the post and wants to join in).

Since I don't like tagging people, I'll just say if you want to take part, please do! No tag backs :)

10 things about me

1. I have way too much nail varnish (especially since I hardly ever do my nails lately).
2. I haven't fallen out of love with blogging, I just need to conserve my energy for other stuff - mainly the wedding, but some health stuff too.
3. On that topic, it's 4 and a half weeks to go and I haven't received my dress yet. Can I get a collective 'Panic!'?
4. I left my home town when I was 19 and will hopefully never live there again.
5. When I was a child I always wrote. A pad and pen was never out of my hands. I wanted to be an author. Quite a few people have told me I should write a book, but if I did it'd have to be something along the lines of Christopher Brookmyre, who swears like a navvy and makes me pee myself laughing with his humour. I couldn't write a book without dropping a few F-bombs, and I'd want it to be funny, so he's the man.
6. When I was a kid, I bit my nails really badly. I stopped when I was about 14. Sometimes in times of real stress I might nibble one nail but I like having nice nails *stops to admire them*
7. I love doing laundry (apart from the putting away part, as my wardrobe is broken and basically it's just a box to throw clothes into!) Hopefully I'll be buying a vintage wardrobe after the wedding is over.
8. I have my own little business, in case you didn't know. Funki Munki Badges.
9. I'm trying to grow my hair long but my hairdresser seems to have other ideas!
10. I haven't had the luckiest life, but I'm happy.

Questions from Natalie:

  1. What is your favourite male & female names? Gabriel and Raphael for boys and Amber and Rose for girls (to be edited, I have a list of names on my laptop)
  2. If you could only watch one TV series, what would it be? Sons of Anarchy. The acting and scripts are amazing and it keeps me guessing from week to week.
  3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose? Right here. In the summer, it's so beautiful I wouldn't swap it for anywhere in the world.
  4. Coffee or tea? Tea, agave nectar and milk please :)
  5. What’s your most treasured possession? It's a toss up between my phone, laptop and SLR.
  6. Who is your favourite fictional couple? Jacob and Bella!
  7. Unicorns or Dragons? Unicorns. I want one tattooed on me in a My Little Pony style.
  8. Do you have any phobias? Being buried alive. Make sure I'm good and dead!
  9. Can you play an instrument? Nope. No musical talent here at all, I'm afraid.
  10. What is your favourite fashion trend right now? I hate to admit it (because I've lived through it once already) but pastels. I want to hate them, but I can't! I can't even remember if I can carry them off or not. We'll see ;)
  11. What colour are your eyes? Hazel. Most people assume they're brown, but that's because they're not close enough!

11 questions for you:

1. Who do you think (or are told) you resemble? (Family member, famous person?)
2. If you were going to live on a desert island which 5 things would you take?
3. Dogs or cats? (Or both?)
4. Who do you most admire in the world?
5. What did you want to be when you grew up?
6. Have you ever been on TV?
7. Favourite children's programme when you were a kid?
8. What is your favourite quote?
9. What is your favourite book?
10. What is your dream holiday spot?
11. Love or money?

If you do it, link me to your post in the comments :)

366 Week Nine

Well, another week has zoomed by.

I've been trying to keep myself on an even keel, do wedding stuff (including trying to chase up loads of lazy fucks who haven't RSVP'd yet), exercise more....I'm not sure if I've succeeded in anything other than a little bit more exercise (which has meant a lot more pain).

Sun 26th Feb

Another walk round a graveyard

Monday 27th Feb

Our neighbours have cut a rather phallic area into their lawn

Tues 28th Feb

New ring from eBay

Weds 29th Feb

New labret spike and thicker eyebrows - God, I look miserable!

Thurs 1st Mar

Pile of RSVPs we've had for the wedding

Friday 2nd Mar

Lovely sky and a fish and chip tea
Sat 3rd Mar

Bird cage I bought for the wedding
Sorry (again!) for no proper posts.

I hope you are all well and had a great weekend.

Any plans for this week?
