Real Techniques Core Collection make up brushes

Hiya loves!

Happy Independence Day to any American readers!

I've been meaning to talk about these brushes for a while now. As soon as I bought them they went into my make up bag and there they've stayed. Everything I'd heard about Real Techniques brushes is true. It's rare something lives up to the hype in the beauty world but these brushes just work

In the set you get:

  • detailer brush: precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas; or, use with lipstick for long-lasting shape and definition
  • pointed foundation brush: Use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage
  • buffing brush: ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation
  • contour brush: delicately applies highlighter to contour or create sheer, soft-focus finish
  • panoramic brush case is a 2-in-1 case + stand

The contour brush is amazing - it enables you to get right in there under your cheekbones in a detailed manner. I use it the most. I use the buffing brush to buff in my foundation and the dinky brush I use for concealer. The least used of the four at the moment is the pointed foundation brush. I'm only wearing foundation on my red areas like my cheeks at the moment, but it's great for finer application round fiddly areas like the eyes and nose.

These brushes wash well, are really well made and don't shed a lot of bristles. They are entirely synthetic which makes them cruelty free, which is essential for me. They are lovely and soft so they won't hurt your face, which is so important. I did find a little bit of staining on the white bristles when using dark colours, but it's something I've noticed with other make up brushes in the past and it doesn't bother me. All in all these brushes are an excellent addition to any make up bag, alongside the starter set I blogged about previously. This set is available on Amazon at the moment for £17.85, which is a few pounds less than usual. At under £4.50 each these brushes are worth every single penny. I wish I'd taken the plunge and bought them ages ago.

Amazon often have them for sale cheaper than Boots so it's well worth remembering if you want to snap these babies up. I hear their blusher brush is equally as amazing so I'll try to get my mitts on it soon.

Have you tried Real Techniques brushes? What are your favourite brushes?

Thanks for reading.
