Outfit | Lindy Bop Saphy retro dress

Hello loves,

When I went to UKPSFW, I fell in love with Katt's Lindy Bop dress, but I didn't think there was any chance of the dress fitting me as Lindy Bop dresses tend to be quite fitted and only go up to a size 26. However this dress has shirring on the back and is oversized. I'm wearing a size 24 and I'm generally a size 28.

Let me paraphrase a poem from Elizabeth Barrett Browning and say How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Firstly I'm not wearing a bra with this dress. It's firm enough a fit to keep my shirt potatoes in place nicely. The shirring is stretchy but not loose, accommodating my wide back perfectly. There is a zip in the centre of the back which would come in handy for those with very large boobs who can't pull the dress on over their head. And it has pockets, deep pockets! I could skip for joy.

The length is great on me (I'm 5ft 5 and a half) and I didn't feel the need to wear tights or leggings underneath. The skirt is gloriously full and gives me the illusion of having more of an hourglass body than I do, and that could be further enhanced with a big puffy petticoat. It makes my bum shelf look amazing, so if you have junk in the trunk this is definitely the dress for you. The material is substantial without being too heavy and feels lovely to wear. I have only one bugbear with the dress and that is the straps are too close to the edge of my shoulders. I need to see if I can unpick them at the back and move them inwards an inch or so each. At the moment the straps fall down regularly, but when wearing a bra with this I could use bra strap retainers to keep the straps from falling down if unpicking them looks too difficult.

Now I need Lindy Bop to release this dress in more patterns with the shirring because I'm absolutely IN LOVE with this dress and think everyone should buy it. I think this is the only one with a shirred back in the Saphy style and I need more of them in my life. I'm really weird because I have lots of special occasion dresses in my wardrobe which feel too dressy to wear every day, but I can see myself wearing this dress over and over again.
